Valentines Dance

This is Preston and I after the Valentines Dance in Long view!!! Before we went to the dance we went out to eat. I got him a gift. It was candy and a big balloon.:) He got me a bag of candy, jewelry, and a big card. :)

Gilmer Stake Dance

So my Mom has been taking me to some of the Gilmer Stake Dances. Gilmer is exactly 2 hours from our house. We went to the 1st one in November, which was in Mt. Pleasant, and then she took me to one in January in Gilmer. I have met some really cool people, one of them being Preston. Preston is 15, and in 9th grade. He has a sister named Jacy, who is 14 and in 8th grade, like me. She is super cool and awesome. I think we are going to be friends for a long time. At the end of December, my family went to their house for lunch one day. We were heading to my Mimi & Grampa's house in Killeen, so we just took a detour to go. They live in a cool house outside of Quitman, Tx. Our mom's have become fast friends.

A couple of weeks ago our Mom's allowed me to go to their house to stay for the weekend. I went on Friday, and came home Sunday night. It was the Gilmer Stake Conference, and the youth sang the EFY Medley during it. It was so cool. Really neat. I had a great time. This is a picture of Preston & I after conference. And yes, I am taller then him by 2 inches. He is a really cool guy, and I am glad that he is (and Jacy) my friend. The next big QUAD-STAKE DANCE is February 13th in Longview, Tx. That stake, Gilmer, Tyler & Shreveport Stakes are all invited. Can't wait to go!! My mom is going to take me down, so she and Preston's mom can go out to eat.

Since school started

I didn't get to be drum major as I said before. The reason is is because Mr. Stewart, who was our band director, got a new job at another school during the summer, and the new band directors decided not to use us. We still learned things, but we didn't get to really be it. In fact, I think we only did 1 home game this season because it rained LIKE EVERY TIME there was a home game, and all games would be cancelled. The one night there was a game, it was cold!!

Deer season started, and my dad decided to buy a new 4-wheeler. It's pretty awsome...

I did the pumpkin on the right. I had to use super glue to hold some of it together. My mom did the same with the other one. She was helping Jacob with his. I went to the church Halloween Party as Dorothy. It was a fun time.

I went to an AWESOME church dance over in Mt. Pleasant, Tx. That area is part of the Gilmer, Tx Stake, but we found out about their youth dance in Mt. Pleasant. My mom took me there. It was so much fun. Met a few cute boys. I hope to go again soon.

Drum Major Camp

I went to this camp to help me become a better drum major and I did and it was so fun. Mr. Moss is from Cameron,Tx and came all the way up to teach a class for a whole week to be drum majors. I told him I was from Bryan, and he said "That was cool and why a girl from Bryan is now living in Ashdown Arkansas?" I said "My dad wanted to live by his mom and dad, and we needed a new house, because we have 7 kids." So that whole week was fun.

Band Rocks!

In January we got a new band teacher because our last one sucked. Before we had gotten our new teacher we sucked, because she would never do anything with us. She would never teach us anything new. We only did eazy songs and never hard ones. Now we have a new band teacher, Mr. Stewart. He is from around here and plays the french horn and in percution. Before he came we were playing music that was like a 1-3. Now since he has been here we have gone from a 3 to a 10. Our concert was on Sunday April 26, and we had a standing ovation, and the AJHS Band had never had one at all! The songs we played were: Crusade, Canon Of Peace, Command March, Flight of The Thunderbird, Break Thoe the Bread of Life. Now we are learning to play: A Childhood Hymn and Lament and Tribal Dances. He is the best band teacher AJHS has ever had! I hope he stays a long time!

Science

O.K. I am in science club, so I had to do a project. My project was over biodiesel. I got 2nd place in Earth division. I went to another town and a whole lot of people were there. I did not win but if was o.k. I have next year.

I get my braces off on Wednesday! I have had them on since Spring Break 2008. Since at the time of getting them on, I had not lost 11 teeth, and my front 4 teeth were a mess, the orthodondist decided to do a preventative procedure so that when my other teeth finally come in, and with my front teeth straight, then maybe my new ones will come in right. If not, then I will be getting braces on again in a year or so... GREAT!

Today at church the Stake President was there. He stood up and said that Bishop Bowmen was not the bishop anymore. Brother McCormack was called as our new bishop. Brother Saffel is 1st counselor, and Brother Platt (Victoria's dad) is 2nd.

On Wednesday the bishop came into Young Women and called me out. I went into his office, and he asked me if I would like to be the Beehive president. I was so excited. My counselors are Chendara (1st), Victoria (2nd), and Emiley is my secretary.

On Christmas day, we drove to my Mimi & Grampa's house, and my mom was not feeling well. She had a horrible headache, and her nose was constantly running. She stuffed the kleenix up it to stop it from dripping out, WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING! Talk about embarrassing! She then took a picture of me while I was sleeping. Usually she can get better worse ones of me sleeping with my mouth opened, but since she was driving, she was being careful.

Joseph is always a pain, but is so stinkin' cute! He plays with his cars, and he loves sharing his cars with me. He knows where his mouth, nose, eyes, ears, teeth and hands are. He just turned 2 in December. We asked him were his teeth were, so that is why he is smiling in the picture.

Josh is my older brother; he is 18. He is going on his mission soon! We like hanging out. Soon we will go to Six Flags. He loves hunting. He has shot 2 does this year. He is the Fish Expert, and calls himself China Man sometimes. He is really cool and fun!!!!
